How a peer support session works

Sessions last up to an hour. You can use as much or as little of this time as you wish. The latest booking is at 3 p.m. and the latest drop-in is at 3:30 p.m., to ensure you receive the time you need.

For confidentiality purposes, our peer support room accommodates only one student at a time. The room may be closed during opening hours if a session is in progress. If so, try another time or book a session.

What we can help you with

Peer Support Assistants foster a safe and supportive space to talk through concerns related to relationships, stress, mental health, culture, identity, and more. They are not mental health professionals and cannot provide advice (medical or otherwise), professional psychotherapy, or health care.

You are the expert on your own experience and are welcome to participate in as many peer support sessions as you wish. When booking, you may choose the Peer Support Assistant you'd like to meet with.

Wellness Lounge

The Wellness Lounge is a safe and welcoming space you can visit on campus. The students who work at the Wellness Lounge are very familiar with health and wellness resources. They will be able to answer most of your questions. This is a good place to start if you are not sure what resource or program is best for you. Students are also trained in how to support others and can offer quick support on site.
