Learn about conducting a successful rapid review

A rapid review is a streamlined form of evidence synthesis designed to provide timely answers to focused research or policy questions. Its main purpose is to balance rigour with efficiency by using established systematic review methods while making targeted modifications.

In this session, you will learn: 

  • what rapid reviews are;
  • the key concepts and methods used in conducting rapid reviews;
  • when rapid reviews are useful;
  • how to conduct and report this type of review.

Patrick Labelle is a research librarian at the University of Ottawa. For more than 10 years, he has worked on various knowledge synthesis projects primarily in the social sciences and in education through collaborations with researchers and graduate students. Patrick is also an information specialist with the Campbell Collaboration and a co-instructor with the Evidence Synthesis Institute Canada. In 2024, he joined CRECS as a Principal Researcher.
