Join our undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy program to help shape the future of pharmaceutical care and services in our communities in a bilingual environment.

Before submitting your application, ensure that you meet the following criteria:

• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident at the time of application
• Have completed a minimum of 2 years of full-time university studies (60 credits or equivalent)
• Have a 75% (B+) overall average or equivalent as calculated by University of Ottawa's rules
• Successfully complete the required prerequisite courses with a minimum grade of 75% (B+) in each course.

Important: Students who have obtained a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) only or from CEGEP are not directly eligible for the undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy program, prior university-level studies are required.

To be admitted to the program, you must also: 

• Successfully complete the admission interview
• Demonstrate your ability to follow a university program in French
• Demonstrate your ability to work in a bilingual environment

The following courses must be taken and passed prior to initial program registration.

Important: Candidates who have not completed all prerequisite courses are encouraged to apply. The Admissions Committee will evaluate each application to determine, at its discretion, whether candidates meet the overall requirements needed to succeed in the program. Admission is not guaranteed.

18 required university-level units:

• 6 units in a discipline outside the sciences
  • Examples of subjects (not limited to): sociology, psychology, religion, business administration, French literature, creative writing, etc.
• 6 units in biology
  • Courses such as anatomy, physiology, immunology, and microbiology are accepted.
• 3 units in chemistry
  • Examples of topics covered: chemical bonding, molecular geometry, chemical equations and quantitative relationships, chemical kinetics and equilibrium, redox reactions, electrochemistry, dissociation equilibria, acids and bases in solution.
• 3 units in mathematics, including statistics
  • Examples of subjects (not limited to): functions, differential and integral calculus, statistics, algebra, probability, quantitative analysis, etc.

Note: Prerequisite courses will not be assessed in advance; they will be reviewed as part of the admission application evaluation process.

Important dates and deadlines for the fall 2026 admissions:

• September 15, 2025: portal to submit application opens
• January 12, 2026: deadline to submit your application form
• January 23, 2026: Deadline to submit all admission documents
• Mid March 2026: interview invitations sent out by e-mail
• Early March 2026: interviews with selected candidates
• End of April 2026 : update of candidates' admission results 

Log into  and check your Admission file for the list of supporting documents you need to submit to complete your application. Submit your documents by uploading them to uoDoc, via uoZone.

• Official transcripts of all programs completed at the post-secondary level
  • You must upload copies of all transcripts from universities you have attended to the student portal. Transcripts must cover all courses and programs at any university you have attended, including regular programs (either completed or not), exchanges, letters of permission, online or correspondence courses, courses taken as a special student or visiting students, etc. If your transcript and degree certificate are not in English or French, you must submit a certified translation (signed and stamped and sealed). 
• After you receive an offer of admission, you must have official copies of all transcripts sent to the University of Ottawa directly from your previous institutions.  
  
  University of Ottawa - Previous or current Ottawa students do not need to submit a transcript of their studies at the University of Ottawa. Professional programs in rehabilitation require all transcripts, including those from �糵����.

Request for special consideration

Any applicant wishing to request special consideration in the admissions process for medical reasons must submit a letter of explanation and supporting documentation (medical certificate, etc.). This must be submitted on uOcampus at the same time as the application for admission.

This program is designed to train competent pharmacists who will respond to the needs of Francophone minority communities.

Courses, examinations, communications and the majority of practical training will be conducted in French. You must therefore demonstrate a sufficient level of spoken and written French to meet the requirements of the program. In addition, you must be able to communicate in English as some placements will take place in bilingual or Anglophone environments.

• Your level of oral French and bilingualism will be evaluated during the interview.
