Objectives of this session:
- Understand how ableism influences medical education, clinical practice, and healthcare policies, leading to barriers in care for disabled individuals.
- Explore how social conditioning and medical training shape biases toward disability and examine how these biases affect patient interactions and decision-making.
- Discuss practical strategies for fostering accessibility, supporting patient autonomy, and advocating for a more equitable healthcare system.
