The estimated amount for the University fees includes: 

• Tuition fees (International students studying in French can be eligible for a differential tuition fee exemption).
• Ancillary fees (Incidental fees are related to student activities, services and associations).
• Administrative fees (Administrative fees are charged for specific administration–related services). 

No, funding is not automatic for all graduate students.

• For doctoral students, doctoral scholarships are awarded competitively, based on the quality of the application. These scholarships are awarded based on a faculty and institutional quota, meaning that a limited number of scholarships are available each year. Selection is made from the best applications submitted, based on the application evaluation at the time of admission.
• For Master’s degree candidates with a thesis (M.A.), a special merit scholarship may be awarded to new students who have achieved an admission average of 8.0/10 (A-) or higher. This scholarship is generally awarded automatically, based on the application evaluation at the time of admission.

Students admitted to the M.Ed. (Coursework or Major Research Paper options) do not qualify for admission or special merit scholarships.

Funding options for graduate students include:

• Government financial aid (provincial/federal loans and scholarships)
• Research scholarships or grants from external organizations (e.g., SSHRC, FRQSC)
• Online scholarships

In addition to internal and external scholarships, graduate students may have access to other forms of financial support, including paid employment contracts within the Faculty, such as assistantships and research contracts.

The first day of enrolment for the next Fall and Winter terms is generally in June of each year. Please consult the Important Dates and Deadlines webpage to know when your enrollment period begins.

You will also receive an email with detailed information before the enrollment period begins.

We strongly recommend consulting your recommended course sequence to better understand which courses you should be taking per term. 

Students at the University of Ottawa have access to a �糵���� email account (@�糵����.ca) using the Outlook platform powered by Microsoft. Your Outlook account is automatically activated up to 48 hours after you successfully enroll in at least one course in uoCampus.  

Enrollment is done online via the uoZone portal.

Once logged in, go to the Enrollment section to search for and add courses to your program.
 

If you have not yet fulfilled all your admission conditions, your enrollment may be temporarily blocked.

Admission conditions can include:

• Submission of all official transcripts and required documents
• Proof of degree completion

Until these conditions are fully satisfied and verified by the Graduate Studies Office, the system may prevent you from enrolling in courses. Make sure to consult your Admission File via uoZone to review your admission letter to identify outstanding conditions, and submit missing document as soon as possible.
 

Please contact the Graduate Studies Office as soon as possible for us to complete a file evaluation to determine if you’re eligible to apply.  

Once all of your grades are official, please send us an email ([email protected]) to request an evaluation and add a comment to your academic file to confirm you have satisfied your program requirements. Once the comment has been added, you will be able to request a Completion Letter from InfoService.

You’ll receive a regular-size diploma free of charge. 

• If attending in person: Your diploma will be available at Convocation. Unclaimed diplomas will be mailed the following week.
• If receiving your diploma by mail: Your diploma will be mailed the week after Convocation.   

You'll also receive a free digital diploma via MyCredsTM shortly after your degree is conferred. An email will be sent to your @�糵����.ca account when it's ready.
