Abstract :
Our ability to make informed decisions about Canadian affordable and social housing is limited by siloed databases managing housing stock and housing needs. In partnership with the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa, our multidisciplinary University of Ottawa research team is developing DASH (Decisions for Affordable/Social Housing). DASH is an open data solution that will integrate data from existing databases on social housing needs, shelter system users, and available housing stock to support better decision-making. This presentation will describe our vision and the initial steps taken toward DASH鈥檚 development and implementation at both community and national levels.
