Biography

Pag-yendu M. Yentchar茅 is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Ottawa. He is also an Expert Member of the African Union Commission鈥檚 Working Group on Indigenous Populations/Communities and Minorities in Africa. He conducts interdisciplinary research at the nexus of Human Rights and Environmental Law and Governance, and Human Rights and the Regulation of New Technologies. He is interested in the epistemology and ethical analysis of global development issues and have a strong interest for socio-legal studies. He is moved by a genuine desire to contribute to a 鈥済ood life鈥 (as Amartya Sen put it) for all by leveraging the structuring power of the Law.

Professor Yentchar茅 obtained an LL.D. from Laval University (Qu茅bec, Canada), a Master in Economic Ethics and Sustainable Development from the West African School for Moral and Political Sciences (Abidjan, Cote d鈥橧voire), and an LL.M. in Business Law from Saint Thomas Aquinas University (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso). Prior to joining the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Ottawa, he held Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Research Chair on Smart Contracts and Blockchain at the Faculty of Law of Laval University, and at the Intellectual Property Unit of the Faculty of Law of Cape Town University (South Africa).
