  • They act as organizers for various activities.

Become a Class Representative

Position Title: Francophone Affairs Student Representative
Term: 4 years (automatically renewed annually unless the student states otherwise)
Start Date: October 6, 2025
Immediate Supervisor: Dr. Kay-Anne Haykal, Vice-Dean, Francophone Affairs
Posting Closes: September 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Purpose of the Position

This position ensures official and active representation of students in the Francophone stream to Francophone Affairs. The appointee serves as a spokesperson, actively promoting, advocating for, and advancing the interests of the Francophone student community within the Faculty.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide active representation of the cohort to Francophone Affairs, including sharing lived issues, identified challenges, noted successes, and concrete solution paths.

  • Attend monthly coordination meetings.

  • Collaborate on the planning, logistics, and delivery of Faculty activities with a Francophone focus (e.g., Intro to Medicine mini-course, 鈥淧re-Med Discovery Days,鈥 etc.).

  • Maintain regular communication with class presidents on the various issues faced by the cohort.

  • Serve as a role model and promote the use of French at all times within the Faculty, especially among peers.

  • Participate in any special projects relevant to the cohort.

  • Prepare an annual report summarizing issues raised and actions taken.

  • The class representative mandate is tacitly renewed each year for the full duration of the program (4 years), unless the student indicates otherwise at the end of the academic year.
