Research
Nicholson鈥檚 research investigates the neural correlates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related mental health conditions, with the goal of advancing innovative, evidence-based treatments. His work also examines the neural mechanisms of minority stress through an intersectional lens, addressing how systemic inequities shape brain processes and mental health outcomes. Using advanced neuroimaging techniques, Nicholson seeks to deepen understanding of the neurobiological factors underlying mental health disorders鈥攑articularly those that disproportionately affect marginalized communities鈥攁nd translate these insights into more effective and accessible interventions.
