Chief Justice Geoffrey B. Morawetz has assigned Associate Justice Stringer to Sudbury.
Associate Justice Carly M. Stringer was called to the Ontario bar in 2011. She was a judicial law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario for a year before joining Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP as a litigation associate. In 2014, Associate Justice Stringer became a senior associate lawyer with Evans, Bragagnolo & Sullivan LLP. After three years, she opened Stringer Law, working as a lawyer and workplace investigator in employment, commercial and municipal law matters. In 2021, Associate Justice Stringer became a full-time adjudicator with Tribunals Ontario, serving the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Assessment Review Board. Most recently, she became a vice-chair of the Assessment Review Board.
Associate Justice Stringer has volunteered with the Sudbury Colloquium, giving presentations to lawyers on a variety of legal topics and providing guidance to new lawyers as part of the Young Lawyers Mentoring session. She is a past chair of the board of governors of Northern College, past director of Timmins and District Victim Services and past co-chair of the Timmins Refugee Sponsorship Committee.
