Denis Boivin is a full professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
He has taught in the Common Law Section since 1993. A former law clerk to Justice Iacobucci of the Supreme Court of Canada (1991-92) and a proud graduate of 电车无码 (LL.B. 1991) and Yale Law School (LL.M. 1993), Professor Boivin specializes in insurance law, tort law, and remedies.
He is the author of numerous articles and books, including , 2nd ed (Yvon Blais, 2023), , 2nd ed (LexisNexis, 2020), , 2nd ed (University of Toronto Press, 2015), and (Yvon Blais, 2012).
A member of the Ontario Bar since 1995, Professor Boivin served on the Financial Services Tribunal of Ontario from 2004 to 2019 and acted as legal counsel at Heenan Blaikie LLP (2008-2012) and CazaSaikaley LLP (2012-2018).
He is the recipient of numerous teaching and research awards, including the Common Law Section Teaching Excellence Award (2017), the Ordre du m茅rite of the Association des juristes d鈥檈xpression fran莽aise de l鈥橭ntario (2017), the University of Ottawa Teaching Excellence Award (2007), and the Canadian Association of Law Teachers Scholarly Writing Award (1999).
