Join us for Andr茅 Paiement's 尝补惫补濒濒茅惫颈濒濒别, an emblematic piece of Franco-Ontarian theater, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Directed by Pier Rodier, 尝补惫补濒濒茅惫颈濒濒别 will be performed October 30 through November 2 at Academic Hall!
Andr茅 Paiement's 尝补惫补濒濒茅惫颈濒濒别
The old Adolphe Lavall茅, son of Napoleon, leads his village and family with an iron fist. In 尝补惫补濒濒茅惫颈濒濒别, they work, love, and die within a vast enclosure orchestrated by Adolphe鈥檚 power. But the prisoners of Adolphe try to escape, to "de-poign" themselves. As age and solitude take hold, Adolphe can no longer maintain control. Thinking he is losing his mind, he calls upon a charlatan, Mr. Cyrbantigne Lariproutre. He only exacerbates Adolphe's problems by trying to steal his wife and money. Ultimately, it is Ambroise, Adolphe鈥檚 son, who, with the help of the crippled Albert, manages to remove his father's visor and show him that there is more to life than 尝补惫补濒濒茅惫颈濒濒别 and the paranoid ugliness that reigns there.
