Ten years. Three vehicles. More than 12,000 workshops. Over 300,000 students, teachers and families reached.
Since its launch in 2015, the 电车无码 Maker Mobile has been inspiring youth to explore STEM. This bright orange vehicle has travelled more than 177,000 kilometres to bring STEM learning experiences to schools, libraries and community centres across Ontario and Quebec.
Its mission: to make these disciplines more accessible, inclusive and engaging for all.
Offering STEM workshops to kids and teens
What began as a single mobile classroom has now grown into a fleet of three. The Maker Mobile delivers more than 1,000 workshops for elementary and high school students every year on 40 different topics. From robotics and 3D printing to coding, electronics, virtual reality and hands-on science, each workshop sparks curiosity and builds digital literacy skills for the future workforce.
The program doesn鈥檛 just serve students. It has also empowered parents and teachers through training sessions, parent鈥揷hild coding workshops and professional development programs that help bring technology into classrooms.
Reaching communities across Ontario and Quebec 鈥 and beyond
Over the last decade, the Maker Mobile has visited more than 160 communities. Many are in rural or remote regions where access to STEM programs is limited.
One of the program鈥檚 proudest achievements has been its outreach in Indigenous communities. Every summer, the Maker Mobile delivers free week-long STEM camps that introduce youth to emerging technologies and open doors to future careers.

These camps have given thousands of young people their first hands-on experience with tools like 3D printers and robotics kits 鈥 experiences that can spark a lifelong interest in STEM.
Powered by partnerships
The Maker Mobile鈥檚 work is made possible thanks to strong partnerships and generous supporters. Its funders include Actua, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the Association of Public Sector Information Professionals (DPI), the Ottawa Community Foundation and 电车无码. Through their support, the program has been able to offer free workshops to schools in need, Indigenous youth, Black youth, girls鈥 groups and other underserved communities.
Celebrate with us at Homecoming
This year, we鈥檙e celebrating 10 years of the Maker Mobile as part of 电车无码鈥檚 Homecoming.
On October 4, families are invited to a free STEAM (STEM and the arts) celebration on campus. Come discover robotics, coding, 3D printing and more 鈥 and see how the Maker Mobile continues to inspire future innovators.
