The B. Anne Wood Leadership Award supports third-year undergraduate students at the Faculty of Social Sciences who show exceptional leadership potential. This prestigious scholarship enables the recipient to design and carry out a self-defined project that strengthens their leadership skills, commencing in the summer following their third year and concluding within 12 months.
About Dr. B. Anne Wood

Dr. B. Anne Wood (1937–2024) was a passionate educator, violinist, and historian. A dedicated advocate for exceptional learners and progressive education, she spent her life teaching, researching, and contributing to her communities in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia. Through this award, her legacy supports students who are ready to make meaningful change through bold, self-led initiatives.

Eligibility  

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the third year of an honours undergraduate program at FSS (must have completed a minimum of 54 units and a maximum of 81 units on January 15, 2025)
  • Show demonstrated leadership capacity
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected/refugee person, or international student

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview with a panel of representatives from the Faculty of Social Sciences in April.
