XpressLab - Language testing portal

XpressLab is OLBI's Language Testing Services test suite platform for French and English as a second language evaluations.

Testing Platform Minimum Requirements

Windows, Mac or Linux desktop operating system
Stable 'High-speed' internet
The browser Google Chrome is strongly recommended. Do not use Safari.
Speakers for listening passages
A microphone is required for speaking tests; Bluetooth is not recommended.
Minimum resolution of 1024x768 but recommend resolution of 1368x768 and up

The application is not compatible with smartphones and tablets. Please use a desktop computer.

Your profile, audio configuration and practice tests

Confirm your profile email address. The first time you login to , the application saves your @uottawa.ca email address in your profile. If that address is not yet activated, you may choose to edit your profile and replace it with an active email address.

Configure and test your audio preferences. After you have logged in, click on the speaker symbol at the top of the XpressLab dashboard.

Try out the Practice Tests. This will ensure that you are familiar with the different types of questions and that your audio equipment is functioning properly. Please note that there’s no fees for this test.
