Gabrielle is in her final year of the University of Ottawa's 6-year Joint Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science and a Juris Doctor program. Gabrielle is Newfoundland and Labrador born and lived in Saskatchewan throughout her adolescent years before coming to Ottawa.
As a first-year student, Gabrielle participated in the House of Commons Page Program, and has since valued seeking employment during her studies to inform her education. She has held various student positions around Ottawa and paired these experiences with her keen involvement in student life at 电车无码. She was the Vice President of Communications for the Political Science and Policy Student鈥檚 Association (IPPSSA), which furthered her interest in student relations. She then was elected as the Common Law Director on the Board of Directors of the University of Ottawa Student鈥檚 Union. Through this role, Gabrielle chaired the Governance Committee and the Executive Oversight Committee, among other involvement.
These experiences and her continuing legal education have increased her interest in giving back to the university community by serving on the Board of Governors. She is passionate about inclusive and transparent governance, adequate on-campus mental and physical health services, and accessibility awareness.
Gabrielle鈥檚 perspectives as a bilingual and out of province student follow her to the Board of Governors, and she hopes to bring her professionalism, fresh perspective and strong communications skills to the table.
In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys cooking, camping, going to shows at the National Arts Centre, and snuggling with her dog Penelope.
Gabrielle is open to discussing concerns with students and encourages them to reach out via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])
