Amanda Dale
From June 4 to 6, HRREC Fellow Amanda Dale, Ph.D., joined colleagues from around the world who gathered at the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice.

The purpose of the gathering was to attend the inaugural workshop of the Global Network on National Human Rights Action Planning (NHRAP), which was themed Uncovering 30 Years of NHRAPing: Lessons from the Five Continents. The workshop brought together 88 delegates from 36 countries across all continents, including representatives from government, civil society, international institutions, national human rights institutions, and academia.

Building on the 1993 Vienna Conference Plan of Action on Human Rights' call for states to create NHRAPs and Professor Azadeh Chalabi's foundational work at the University of Liverpool, the delegates gathered to share the promising practices and impacts of these plans.

As Canada has not yet adopted a national human rights action plan, Dr. Dale's participation is significant. She remains a member of this first-ever global network on human rights planning and implementation.
